VPS Evidence Drive
Privacy Policy
1. Overview
VPS Evidence Drive ("the Application") is a privately operated utility used to transfer, store, and verify selected evidence files between a virtual private server (VPS) and the application owner's Google Drive account.
This policy explains how the Application accesses and handles Google Drive data.
The Application is not offered as a public service.
2. Information Accessed
With the owner's authorization, the Application may access:
- Google Drive files and folders created through the Application or explicitly made available to it.
- File names, identifiers, sizes, timestamps, and other metadata needed for file operations.
- File contents selected for upload, download, recovery, or integrity verification.
- OAuth credentials required to maintain authorized access to Google Drive.
The Application uses the Google Drive OAuth scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file.
It does not request unrestricted access to all files in the owner's Google Drive.
3. How Information Is Used
Google Drive information is used to:
- Upload owner-approved evidence files.
- Organize and retrieve stored evidence.
- Restore selected files for verification.
- Compare file sizes and SHA-256 checksums.
- Produce operational reports and file manifests.
- Diagnose transfer or verification failures.
Google Drive data is not used for advertising, marketing profiling, or training general-purpose AI models.
4. Storage and Security
The Application operates on a privately administered VPS.
OAuth credentials are stored in a restricted configuration file outside public repositories.
Evidence files, manifests, and operational reports may be stored locally on the VPS and in the owner's Google Drive.
Access to these resources is controlled through the VPS account, filesystem permissions, Google authorization, and operational procedures.
Reasonable security measures are used to restrict unauthorized access. However, no storage or transfer system can guarantee absolute security.
5. Data Sharing
The Application does not sell Google user data.
Google Drive content is transferred only as needed for owner-authorized operations. Google Drive and the infrastructure providers used to operate the service necessarily process data within their respective services.
The Application does not automatically publish evidence files or make them publicly accessible.
Any additional sharing of evidence requires a separate action or authorization by the owner.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Evidence stored on Google Drive remains there until the owner deletes it or otherwise manages its retention.
Local staging files, restored files, manifests, and reports may remain on the VPS until removed under the owner's maintenance procedures.
The Application does not currently perform automatic synchronization or automatic deletion of evidence.
Revoking Google OAuth authorization prevents further authorized Google Drive access through that connection. It does not automatically delete previously uploaded evidence or local copies.
7. User Control
The Google account owner may revoke the Application's Google account access through Google's account security and third-party connection settings.
The owner also controls which evidence files are selected for transfer and may manage or delete stored evidence through Google Drive and the VPS.
8. Website Visitors
This informational website does not intentionally collect personal information through registration forms or embedded analytics.
The website is hosted using GitHub Pages. GitHub may process technical information associated with website visits according to its own policies.
9. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated if the Application's functionality, data handling, or applicable requirements change.
The current version will be published at this website.
